For most small businesses, our Starter plan is the right entry point — $100/month flat, up to 200 transactions, monthly P&L and balance sheet. Most early-stage companies stay on Starter for 6–12 months, then move to Growth ($300/month) as transaction volume crosses 200. Larger or multi-entity operations land on Enterprise ($600–2K/month). There are no setup fees, no add-ons, and no surprise overage charges — every plan is all-inclusive.
A full-time in-house bookkeeper typically costs $4,000–$6,000/month loaded (salary, benefits, software licenses, training), and you still own the risk if they're sick, on vacation, or quietly making errors. With Adonai, you get AI-powered categorization plus a dedicated senior accountant — for a fraction of the cost, with built-in backup coverage so your books never stall. Outsourcing is also faster to scale: grow from 200 to 750 transactions without recruiting and onboarding a second hire.
5 business days from a signed agreement to your first reconciled month. Day 1 we connect your bank, card, and payment platforms (read-only — we never move money). Day 2–3 we backfill the current month and start categorizing. Day 4 your dedicated accountant reviews and tightens. Day 5 you receive your first reconciled reports. If your books need cleanup before month one ends, we'll flag it on the discovery call and budget the catch-up time up front.
We connect to your bank and payment platforms using read-only credentials — there's no way for anyone at Adonai to initiate a transfer, withdraw funds, or change account settings on your behalf. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is role-based: only the accountant assigned to your account can see your transactions, and every login is logged and reviewed.
We never sell, share, or use your financial data to train external models — your books stay your books.
QuickBooks Online and Xero are our primary platforms, and most clients use one of those. If your business runs on something else — Wave, FreshBooks, Sage, or even a well-structured spreadsheet — we'll work in whatever you already have. We don't believe in forcing a migration. The only requirement: it needs read access for your accountant and an export path so you own your data.
Yes — catch-up bookkeeping is one of the things we do best. Most catch-up engagements take 2–4 weeks depending on volume and complexity, and we charge a one-time project fee on top of your monthly plan. Most catch-up clients land on our Enterprise tier because the cleanup combined with ongoing monthly close demands more capacity. We'll scope it precisely on the discovery call so you know the price before we start.
It depends on your plan, and we scale the cadence as your business scales:
Every tier includes a live dashboard so you can pull numbers at any moment without waiting for the next report.
Adonai is focused on bookkeeping, reconciliation, and financial reporting — that's what we do best. For payroll runs, sales-tax filings, and annual 1099 preparation, we maintain a vetted network of partner CPAs and payroll providers we refer clients to. We'll introduce you, share the context they need, and coordinate the handoff so you're not explaining your books twice. Bundling all of it under one roof usually ends up slower and more expensive than keeping the specialists separate.
No — Adonai is a bookkeeping firm, not a CPA firm. We produce audit-ready books and coordinate with your CPA at tax time, but we don't file returns ourselves. The reason: bookkeeping and tax preparation are different disciplines, and the firms that try to do both usually do both poorly. We partner with several excellent CPAs — when you're ready to file, we'll connect you with one that fits your entity structure and the complexity of your return. Most of our clients' annual tax-prep fees drop after 12 months with us, because clean books are cheaper to file on.
You're never locked in. All Adonai plans are month-to-month with no contracts and no cancellation fees. If you need to pause, cancel, downgrade, or upgrade, one email to your account manager and it's handled — usually within the same business day. You'll always receive your complete books in a portable format (QBO backup, Xero export, or CSV) so you own 100% of your data, every step of the way.
